"Can I legally use personal photos I've taken for a travel guide?"

The quick answer to your question is "Not if the images within your pictures have a copyright or trademark already established."

I believe you'll find that photography within Walt Disney World is something covered in the material they provide to park visitors-- and I suspect they deal with this issue directly and already prohibit you from using photographs for commercial purposes that you've taken within the park . If not, you should call the park and ask to speak with a public affairs representative. (Check the website for contact information.)

What is certain is that you can't take pictures of Mickey or Goofy or the Magic Castle and publish them commercially without permission-- they are each protected by a trademark, copyright or some other sort of service mark.

What you can publish are pictures taken OUTSIDE of the park that do not contain images that are protected-- Downtown Orlando, for example. In fact, if you take a look at some of the travel guides at the bookstore, you'll see they tend to be light on pictures of the attractions except where they've been given permission to use the photos.

Here's what I could find; it does not say why and I think you'd have to contact a Canadian Embassy, to find out. There seem to be issues with these "Homelands".

Canada Gazette:

Unacceptable documents:
(3) The following documents are not considered
passports or identity or travel documents for the
purposes of this section:
(a) any passport or identity or travel document
purporting to have been issued by
Bophuthatswana, Ciskei, Transkei or Venda;
(b) any passport or identity or travel document
purporting to have been issued by the All Palestine
Government;
(c) any passport that was issued by the Government
of the United Kingdom and is entitled
?British Visitor?s Passport?; and
(d) any passport purporting to have been issued
by Somalia

Hi I hope that these videos about Disney World will be what you want to see:

http://www.travelchannel.com/Video_&_Photos/Video_Detail?lineupId=1387552933

If it's not what you want ~ check the weekly show schedule to find out what the upcoming shows are.
I saw an excellent program recently that was a behind the scenes tour of WDW. It was so good.
And once they had a marathon of WDW shows on Travel Channel ~ just makes me want to go sooner!

We have thousands of travel shows on TV. But not many of them are on Youtube.

The below is just one of them. It's about families in Korea.

I'm interested in things that takes me away from the usual tourist attractions. If I bother to travel somewhere I don't want to see the things that are there for the tourists, I want to see the real deal. A list of unusual attractions would be nice.

Something I always miss is also good information about how handicap friendly things are. How much do I have to walk? How many stairs are there? Are there places where I can rest on the way? Are the doors wide enough for wheelchairs? Are the attractions med in such a way that a wheelchair can get around there? How about bathrooms, are they easily accessible for a disabled person? Is there any help for those that are blind (braille writings and so on)? How hard/easy is it to get hold of a cab if needed?

Once we were told that a place was handicap friendly since it was on the ground level. What they didn't tell was that only the entrance was on ground level and that everything of interest was several stairs up. No elevator. Another place was easily accessible in general, but, the bathroom was in the basement, no elevator and a narrow stair down to a tiny booth. Thing like this is very important to know before you go there is you or someone that travels with are disabled in some way.

Siam Water World is situated in the Siam Paragon.It is advisable to take a taxi from Pratunam to the Siam Paragon since it is not connected by the BTS (Sky Train).The distance between the 2 points is not more than 7 to 8 km.
It should cost you no more than 50 to 60 BHT depending on the traffic.
